Techcyte Receives 2026 Innovation Award from Sonora Quest Laboratories
OREM, UT, UNITED STATES, September 8, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Techcyte, the leader in AI-powered digital microbiology, today announced that it has received the 2026 Innovation Award from Sonora Quest Laboratories during the organization’s Strategic Supplier Summit.
Techcyte was one of approximately 30 suppliers selected from more than 1,000 Sonora Quest Laboratories suppliers to participate in the summit and one of five organizations recognized with a Supplier of Excellence award.
The Innovation Award recognizes Techcyte’s work with Sonora Quest Laboratories to bring AI-assisted digital workflows into the laboratory, beginning with the implementation of the Techcyte Fusion® Parasitology Suite.
“Receiving this recognition from Sonora Quest Laboratories reflects the strength of the collaboration between our teams,” said Jacob Hicks, Vice President of Sales at Techcyte, who accepted the award on-site. “We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished together to support Sonora Quest Laboratories’ digital pathology goals and look forward to continuing to expand what is possible through AI-assisted workflows.”
Sonora Quest Laboratories, a joint venture between Banner Health and Quest Diagnostics, went live with the Techcyte Fusion Parasitology Suite in April of 2026. The suite brings digital slide viewing, case management, and AI-assisted analysis into a unified workflow designed to support laboratories performing ova and parasite examinations.
The implementation was driven in part by the challenges laboratories face in recruiting and retaining technologists for O&P screening and Sonora Quest Laboratories’ broader effort to modernize microscopy workflows.
Sonya Engles, Chief Operating Officer of Sonora Quest, states, “At Sonora Quest, we value collaboration with partners like Techcyte, who help us transform our work through innovative solutions and provide enhanced actionable insights to those we serve.”
While the initial deployment focuses on parasitology, Techcyte and Sonora Quest Laboratories continue to collaborate on opportunities to expand digital workflows across additional microbiology applications.
Sonora Quest Laboratories to share its experience in an upcoming Techcyte webinar
Sonora Quest Laboratories will join Techcyte for an upcoming Pioneers in Digital Pathology webinar on September 24, 2026, at 10 a.m. MDT, where attendees can learn more about the organization’s experience implementing digital pathology and AI-assisted workflows.
